Neighbours,
The Sampfords Parish Council has received funding from Uttlesford District Council to assist in the establishment of a community group to focus on sustainability within our community. Whether you’re passionate about reducing energy waste, protecting local wildlife, or simply want to get involved in a friendly, forward-thinking community, we would welcome your input and participation.
The Sampfords on Sustainability (SOS) Group meet every first Thursday of the month at 8:00pm in The Red Lion. Our mission is to promote energy-saving practices, support local wildlife, and work together to create a greener, healthier environment for everyone.
We are currently in the process of creating a survey that will be hand delivered to all households within The Sampfords Parish by a member of the Sampfords on Sustainability Group. WE hope to deliver the survey within the next month. The purpose of the survey is to get your views on what is important to you and your household for the Sampfords On Sustainability initiative and to seek your feedback regarding undertaking a subsidised home energy survey. The purpose of the subsidised Home Energy Survey is to assess home energy efficiency, identify heat loss, and recommend improvements to reduce energy consumption and bills. An assessor will examine insulation, windows, doors, and heating systems, often using tools like thermal cameras and conducting air pressure tests. The goal is to provide a detailed report outlining specific, cost-effective ways to improve your home’s energy performance.
It is all our intention to invite energy and nature experts to present and discuss areas of interest regarding home energy usage and the potential benefits of sustainable options going forward to the Sampfords residents.
Although the group is growing in numbers, we would welcome new members, collectively, we can create positive change in our community, every small action counts! It’s not too late to join!!
Please contact Peter below, and feel free to bring along friends and family who care about sustainability and biodiversity in our villages. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
